ergoCentric Introduces Nymatrix™, an Ergonomic Upholstery Material, Ideal for the New Hybrid Model of Office Work

Toronto, Ontario – August 18th, 2021 – ergoCentric introduces Nymatrix, a new ergonomic upholstery material that can be easily cleaned and disinfected. As employees transition from remote work, back to the office, cleaning protocols will be more important than ever as employers look to create safe and inviting workspaces that entice their employees to return to the office.

In a hybrid model of office work, people will share office chairs and workstations when they are in the office. Regularly disinfecting furniture will be part of a daily routine, and ergoCentric has developed Nymatrix in response to this new requirement.

Nymatrix stands-up to stringent cleaning practices. It is easily cleaned with soap and water or disinfected with 5% bleach solution.

“Upholsteries like vinyl can be cleaned and disinfected but they do not breath and are not comfortable,” said Terry Cassaday, Founder and CEO of ergoCentric. “These coated fabrics are often slippery causing people to slide forward on their seat, away from the back support of the chair. Nymatrix is the solution to both the hygiene and the ergonomic issues. Created by adding ergoCentric’s proprietary anti-slip technology to an engineered nylon matrix upholstery, Nymatrix feels and breaths like leather. We set out to solve a hygiene issue and ended up developing what may be the first fabric that can be called ergonomic.”

In a hybrid model of office work, employees will likely split their time between corporate locations and remote locations. Most office spaces will have shared workstations with unassigned workspaces, increasing the risk factors for employees to develop musculoskeletal injuries. Organizations need to provide office chairs with as many adjustability features as possible to accommodate for different user requirements. Nymatrix compliments the adjustability features of ergoCentric’s task chairs as it ensures the user does not slide forward on the seat, improving postural support.

Nymatrix stands-up to the wear and tear of use, to regular cleaning and the new disinfecting protocols of the hybrid model of office work and is warranted for 10 years. Available in five colours, Nymatrix is recommended for use in corporate offices, call centres, hospital administration areas and is available exclusively on the tCentric Hybrid ergonomic task chair.
